Pakuahat Degree College was founded on 4 th September, 1997 with the aim to uplift rural educationally backward poor people of the Barind area of Malda district The College is built on a 6 acre land area and has an Academic Building where classes are held, an Administrative Building, a Library, one Union Building, a Canteen, Cycle stand, a Boys' Hostel and a Girls' Hostel. The college currently has only Arts faculty with ten departments.
