Kaliyaganj College was brought into existence as the temple of learning on the auspicious day of 20th August 1968 to cater to the long felt thirst for knowledge of young rural aspirants in conformity with the ever increasing craze for higher education in the post-Independence era. Affiliated to the University of Gour Banga (earlier North Bengal), this college is one of the largest degree colleges in the district of Uttar Dinajpur.
