The aim was to make higher professional courses easily available for the students of the state. As engineering was a dream back then, the first college which Green Hills Education society started was Green Hills Engineering College at Kumarhatti, Solan. In 2003, first batch of engineering comprising 239 students started with four streams: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering. In 2007, Information Technology stream was introduced followed by civil engineering in 2010.
