The Hindi Teachers Training College, Imphal was established in the year 1975 by the Government of Manipur under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) accorded recognition to the Hindi Teachers Training College, Imphal for teaching the Hindi Shikshan Parangat course since the academic session 1997-1998. The syllabi and course structure of the Hindi Shikshan Parangat course conform with the NCTE norms. The Hindi Teachers Training College changed its affiliation to the Manipur University.
