Utkal University has three main departments and has 31 sub-departments. The university is ranked 87 for Overall by NIRF 2021 and was established in 1943. The state university is reconised by AIU and UGC and is accredited with “A+” grade by NAAC. It is the oldest university in Orissa and the 17th oldest university in India. The University offers distance-learning programmes to the students and has two schools of study namely the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science, and the School of Women Studies.
