The Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir is an eminent educational institute in Maharashtra. The institute was established in 1952 by Late Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hiray, the visionary educationist and pioneer of the Tenancy Act and Cooperative Movement. His revolutionary work in contemporary socio-economic, political and education fields constructively shaped Maharashtra. Therefore, he is recognized as the sculptor of Modern Maharashtra. As late Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hiray was a staunch freedom fighter and a great admirer of Mahatma Gandhi, the institute was established on 2nd Oct. 1952, on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The institute was established with the vision to bring the socially deprived masses into the mainstream of education.
