Indian Maritime University (IMU) previously known as National ship Design and Research Centre (NSDRC) is situated in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It was established in 14 November 2008 and is a Central University under Govt. of India. IMU was established as teaching- cum -research institutes under the aegis of the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, with Chennai as headquarters
