Handique Girls’ College is situated on the western bank of the picturesque and the historic Dighalipukhuri in the heart of Guwahati. It is one of the oldest Colleges in the north eastern region of India for girls. The College was established by late Rajabala Das, who was also its first Principal. Today Handique Girls’ College has on its rolls more than 2500 students who represent a broad spectrum of ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
