This college was established by "Bagbahara Siksha Samiti" at Mahasamund in the year 1965. On Sep 11, 1981, this college was taken over by the Government. New phase of development of this college started after the take over by the government. At present, graduation in Arts, Science and Commerce as well as post graduation in Hindi, English, political science, history, economics, sociology, commerce, chemistry, botany and mathematics are also taught in this college. This is leading and recognized research center in Mahasamund District.
