The institute was established in the year 1986. Now it grows up to 800 seats in 13 trades. Institute is also declared as Public Private Partnership mode from March 2009 with "Gujarat state fertilizers & chemicals ltd. Institute management committee of this institute has also been converted into the society under the societies registration act, 1950.
