Dera Natung Government College,Itanagar,is the second institute of Higher education in Arunachal Pradesh.Initially housed in Govt. Higher Secondary School Building,it began it's educational pursuits in the evening shift with four one-man departments of English, Hindi, Economics and History and with a handful of students. It shifted to it's own massive building complex in it's permanent site in 1986. Located centrally in the Vivek Vihar sector of the town with a beautiful natural environment,surrounded on three sides by the river Ganga and the fourth side by a hillock;it has an area of 80 acres of land. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University(Formerly Arunachal University),Rono Hills,Doimukh,Itanagar,Arunachal Pradesh.
