Chellammal Women’s College is named after Chellammal, also known as Mylai Chellammal.Born in1867 in Pattipalayam (nowPattipulam) near Thiruporur, she hailed from an ordinary peasant family. Her marriage to Mylai Vadamalai Gramani brought her wealth and comfort.
