UCEED

Undergraduate common entrance exam for design (UCEED) is an entrance examination conducted by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. It is a joint entrance examination for admission into Bachelors of Design Program in IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati and IITD Jabalpur.

 

ELIGIBILITY-

According to the eligibility criteria of UCEED 2023, Open/ EWS/ OBC-NCL category candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1998. Whereas, SC, ST, or PwD categories get the relaxation of five years.

·        COLLEGES ACCEPTING CEED SCORE-

In 2020, total 23 universities and colleges (apart from participating institutes) accepted UCEED scores for admission to BDes programmes offered by them. The UCEED admission process is such that aspirants need to first appear for Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED).

Some of them are IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati and many more.


UCEED Exam caters admission in masters of design courses such as-

·       1. B.Des Information Arts and Information Design Practices

·       2. B.Des Public Space Design

·       3. B.Des Visual Communication and Strategic Branding

·       4. B.Des Product Design

 

Future Prospects after B.Des-

·         Students after completing their M.Des have a bright scope, and can be offered with various job opportunities with a good salary. Some of the jobs are Graphic Designer, Design Managers, Textile Designer, Teachers, Outside Sale Representative, Costume Designer, Fashion Stylists, Fashion Forecasters, and many more.

Also, students can pursue jobs in both government and private sectors, and can earn an average salary from INR 4 to 6 lakhs after successfully completing the B.Des course.

 

Pattern of UCEED Exam-

The features of the UCEED 2023 question paper are:

1.The UCEED 2023 exam will have one question paper of THREE hours duration. 

2.The question paper will be set in English

3.The question paper will have two parts - Part A and Part B. Both parts are mandatory.

4.The total marks for the exam (Part A + Part B) will be 300 marks.

The registration fee of UCEED Form is Rs 3600 for General Category, and For SC/ ST/ PwD/ Female the cost is Rs 1800.
