CEED

The Common Entrance Examination for Design, CEED, is a joint entrance exam for post-graduate studies in the field of technological design. CEED is conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay on behalf of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to offer admission to aspirants in M. Des - Master of Design and Phd. It is held annually jointly at all IITs and Indian Institute of Science.

ELIGIBILITY-

There are no restrictions on the candidate's ability to appear in the exam, regardless of their age or how frequently they are appearing.

There is no upper age limit to apply for any program through CEED. The complete eligibility criteria of CEED 2022 is that the Candidates must have passed a degree / diploma / postgraduate degree program of 4 years or 3 + 3 years.There is no limit for the number of attempts. A candidate can appear for CEED any number of times. Candidate must have passed the GD Arts diploma program (10+5 level) by July 2023 otherwise, the candidate is not eligible to apply.

CEED 2022 is conducted by lIT Bombay to test an aspirant's ability to sketch, draw, logical reasoning along with creative sight. Among the colleges that will accept CEED 2022 score are - IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, VIT Chennai etc. Some of the few colleges accepting CEED Score are as followed-

Future Prospects after M.Des-

·         Students after completing their M.Des have a bright scope, and can be offered with various job opportunities with a good salary. Some of the jobs are UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, Industrial Designer, Design Manager, Fashion Designer, Interior Designer, Fashion Coordinator, Graphic Designer and many more.

Also, students can pursue jobs in both government and private sectors, and can earn an average salary from INR 3 to 8 lakhs after successfully completing the M.Des course, Graduates can work in the industries like fashion, design, craft, textile, special needs, publication, media, and lifestyle products, etc.

 

Pattern of CEED Exam-

The examination is conducted in three stages: Part A, Part B, and an interview.Part A is a preliminary screening test. There are about 50 questions in this part having negative marking. Correct answers carry +2.0 marks and wrong answers carry -0.5 marks (negative). Each question in this part checks general knowledge and awareness. Part B is evaluated for those candidates who are short listed in the screening test (Part A). Each question in this part examines the drawing and creative skills of the candidate. The first two parts are mandatory and the interview is carried for those who clear both Part A and Part B.The Final Score for CEED 2023 will be calculated by giving 25% weightage to Part A and 75% to Part B. The total exam duration is three hours, with Parts A and B accounting for one hour and two hours, respectively. Candidates must note that they need to pass Part A to be eligible to take Part B.

 

The registration fee of CEED Form is Rs. 3600 for General Category, and For SC/ ST/ PwD/ Female the cost is Rs 1800.
